The Glory of Our God We Sing

1 The glory of our God we sing,

And all our praises to Him bring;

He is the one who made us all

His is the name on which we call!

2 We all like sheep have gone astray

And from God’s glory fell away;

Sin and corruption, death and shame

Now all of Adam’s children claim.

3 And yet this glory filled of old

God’s House where deeds of Christ were told;

And now it fills the flesh of Him

Made Man to bear all mankind’s sin.

4 In Christ alone is now revealed

The glory by which we are healed;

For in the flesh and blood of Man

God’s glory shines for us again.

5 See on the cross, that cursed tree,

True God from all eternity;

God’s glory, hidden from our eyes,

Is gained again when Jesus dies.

6 And so in weakness now is shown

The glory that God’s children own,

Who are baptized into the Name

Of Him whose glory hides our shame.

7 Come, kneel where Angels bow to praise;

Your “Holy, Holy, Holy” raise!

In bread and wine is hidden here

The glory that will soon appear.

8 Soon, on a cloud with trumpet tone,

In glory comes the Holy One;

And from the grave all flesh will rise,

And we will meet Him in the skies.

9 By faith in Him by whom we live,

For God’s great glory thanks we give;

Predestined, called and justified,

In Jesus we are glorified!

10. Christ, glorious image of our God,

You have redeemed us by Your blood;

All glory through all ages be

To God the Holy One in Three.
